19-02 · Nap/Sleep Space Requirements

During the time of this inspection, licensing observed that the children in multiple classrooms were napping to close together. This was immediately brought into compliance by assisting the teachers with separating the children to comply with the minimum 18 inch distance requirement. According to CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.2 A minimum of 18 inches must be maintained around individual napping and sleeping spaces. A maximum of two sides of a napping or sleeping space may be against a solid barrier, such as the wall. The solid side of a crib does not meet the requirements for a solid barrier. Napping and sleeping spaces must not be under furniture or against furniture that creates a hazard. Napping and sleeping areas must not be in exit areas. All exits must remain clear in accordance with fire safety requirements
