Counselor completed a walk-through of the facility and observed mold on the ceiling. Provider explain that the tree above the facility has grown and need to be trimmed. Counselor took pictures of the ceiling. The photos will be deleted and/or shredded after review. Counselor gave technical assistance during the inspection from the Child Care Facility Handbook: F. Design and construction of a new child care facility or modifications to an existing facility must meet the requirements of the applicable local governing body. The facility must provide current written approval from the local governing body to verify compliance with building requirements, which include construction of a new building; renovation of an older building; or after a natural disaster to properly evaluate and where necessary, remediate or avoid sites wheres childrens health could be compromised. The written approval must include assessments of: 1. Potential air, soil, and water contamination on facility site and outdoor play areas. 2. Potential toxic or hazardous materials in building construction, such as lead and asbestos; . 3. Potential safety hazards in the community surrounding the site
