40-17 · Medication
Licensing Specialist observed a medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. Medication had an expiration date of: November 2024. This was resolved at the time of inspection when the provider called the parent. The parent stated they would drop off tonight at pick up time a current medication for the child. Expired medication was removed from the classroom and set aside for the parent to pick up. Action Plan: Provider will have the staff complete weekly checks on all medications to ensure expired medications are sent home or discarded immediately. 6.5 Medication Child care programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: H. 04-01 · Supervision
The provider self-reported an incident in which a toddler was left behind in the classroom during a transitioning from the classroom to the outdoor playground for water play. A second teacher heard the child crying in the classroom unattended and walked the child to the manager at the front desk. The provider quickly handled the situation and terminated the staff that were in charge of supervising the children in the class. This was resolved immediately. Parents were notified and documentation was given for them to sign. 2.4 Supervision 2.4.1 General Supervision Requirements A. Child care personnel must position themselves in the outdoor play area so that all children can be observed and directly supervised. B. Child care personnel must be assigned to provide direct supervision to a specific group of children and be with that group of children at all times. Children must never be left without child care personnel supervision inside or outside the facility, in a vehicle, or at a field trip location

33-13 · Training Requirements
Specialist reviewed 2 personnel (E.S and A.O) who had not completed the new required school readiness courses. The two courses, Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness program and Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program, where to be completed by 6/30/24 to be in compliance with the new guidelines. The specialist is giving 2 weeks for the personnel to finish the courses

40-17 · Technical assistance was provided regarding nonprescription lotion located in the children's cubbies in classroom I, which was in reach of children. The nonprescription lotion was moved to a locked cabinet. Specialist brought the facility back into compliance by either sending home or discarding medication at time of inspection
Specialist observed medication discrepancies in three different classrooms. In Classroom A, A.M has non prescription medication that states "children under 2 years of age: ask a doctor". A.M needs a doctor's note allowing for the administration of the cream. C. [...] All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. In Classroom G, S.S has cream that is Rx only but does not have the prescription medication authorization appropriate forms and the original container. C. Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. [...] In Classroom J, S.M has nonprescription medication that, according to the authorization forms, should have been used from 9/5/23 to 9/30/23. This medication should have been sent home if it were not being administered, otherwise the forms should be updated to reflect a new timeframe. H.
