The staff confirmed that she allowed the child to consume food brought from her home. The program's policy regarding "employee foods" states that "consumption of food by employees, other than posted menu items, is prohibited in unauthorized areas such as occupied classrooms" The Director sent a statement via e-mail on 7/11 to confirm the staff was coached and reminded of the Program's Policy, as well as signed a Corrective Action (attached). Per the Child Care Facility Handbook Section 3.9.3 Food Safety: Parents and legal guardians must be advised in advance of each food related activity, such as special occasions and learning activities that include food consumption. Written parental permission may be obtained in the form of a general or specific permission slip.
