During the inspection, counselor reviewed classroom attendance roster. Counselor observed that children who were not properly signed in or out upon arrival or departure. The Handbook states the following: 7.5 Daily Attendance Daily attendance of children must be taken and recorded accurately by the childcare personnel, documenting the time when each child enters and departs the program. Counselor gave the following technical assistance for attendance: The custodial parent or guardian may document the time when the child enters and departs the childcare facility or program. However, childcare personnel are responsible for ensuring that attendance records/rosters are completed and accurate. Attendance devices used for the purposes of tracking attendance may be used, but personnel must ensure the accuracy of the documented attendance. Each classroom must have an attendance sheet/class roster for the group of children occupying that space. Attendance sheet/class roster must accompany the childcare personnel and the group of children throughout the day should they leave the classroom. Attendance records must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months. Corrective Action: The provider accurately signed the arrival and departure times of the children for the attendance. The counselor observed that the attendance was corrected by the owner at time of inspection
