The facility failed to document an incident after a parent brought their concerns involving their child while enrolled. The facility is conduct an all-staff meeting discussing the importance of documentation of incident/accident report writing. The facility did not obtain written authorization prior to using Vaseline or Desitin for diapering. The facility is to have the parent sign an authorization for usage. A copy of the authorization form is to be provided to the counselor for corrective action. 6.5 Medication Child care programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements:. In the event of an emergency, non-prescription medication that is not brought in by the parent or legal guardian can be dispensed only if the program has written permission from the parent or legal guardian to do so. E. Any medication given under these conditions must be documented in the childs file, and the custodial parent or legal guardian must be notified on the day of occurrence. F. The facility must maintain a record for each child receiving any medications that documents the full name of the child, the name of the medication, the date and time the medication was given, the amount and dosage, and the name and signature of the person who gave the medication. This record must be initialed or signed by the program personnel who gave the medication. The record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months after the last day the child received the dosage

33-01 · Training Requirements
Refer to the supplemental for the staff member who has been in the industry since 2021, has not completed the required training in order to work in the childcare industry. 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry.
