24-02 · Food Preparation Area
Counselor observed during inspection that the facility was providing food services. Counselor observed that the facility, as of 4/1/2024, no longer has parent's provide AM snack, lunch and PM snack. The facility provides prepackaged AM & PM snacks. The facility has staff member(s) pick up lunch from Cracker Barrel Monday through Thursday's, and Pizza Hut on Friday's. Provider will portion the lunches picked up from Cracker Barrel or PIzza Hut and the facility does not have a kitchen or food preparation area at the facility. Counselor observed a menu, a food acceptance log and disposal forks and spoons during inspection. Provider submitted policies, plans and pictures to counselor via e-mail on 6/22/2024 of their full food service arrangement and plan for providing lunch, and then prepackaged AM & PM snacks. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 3.9.1 Food Preparation Area A food preparation area is a designated room, such as a kitchen, or a designated space in a facility not normally used or accessible to the children in daily operations for indoor play, classroom, work or nap spaces, and not included when calculating usable indoor floor space. Corrective Action: Provider is to submit to counselor the corrections to the facility to become compliant with food preparation requirements or catering or an alternative plan for the children regarding food service at the facility

45-07 · Background Screening Documents
Counselor observed one staff member with child care industry start date of 9/22/2022, left left the child care industry start date 9/21/2023. Counselor observed the one staff member became employed with facility on 4/29/2024. Counselor observed that the one staff member had a background screening clearance letter with an eligibility date of 9/13/2022. The one staff member had a 90 day break in service and a background screening was not initiated as a resubmission as of inspection date. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 5.2 Re-Screening A screening conducted under this rule is valid for five years, at which time a re-screen must be conducted in the same manner as the initial screening. C. Child care personnel must be re-screened following a break in employment in the child care industry that exceeds 90 days. Child care personnel/individual with a break in service that exceeds 90 days are considered unscreened child care personnel/individuals until completion of re-screening. These child care personnel/individuals shall not have unsupervised contact with children in care. Corrective Action: Provider initiated a resubmission for the one staff member during inspection. Therefore, standard was completed at time of inspection

Counselor observed over 9 bottles/sippys in multiple classrooms that were not labeled with first and last names during inspection. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 3.9.5 Food Handling B. Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily. Corrective Action: Provider is to submit documentation of all staff members written signatures that they understand and will maintain CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.5, B. 33-03 · Training Requirements
Counselor observed one staff member with employment date 7/6/2023 that did not begin the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry as of inspection date. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility: 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. 40-06 · Medication
Counselor observed 5 children that had Tylenol present and 1 child with Hydrocortisone cream present that were under the age of 2. Counselor observed that the Tylenol stated the children's weight and under 2 years of age to ask a doctor to utilize the medication. Counselor observed that 2 of the 5 children were given the Tylenol. Counselor observed that all of the 6 children were under the age of 2. Counselor observed that the Hydrocortisone cream stated that children under the age of 2 is to ask a doctor. The medication also stated that if the medication is utilized for diapering to consult a director. Counselor did not observe any prescriptions during inspection or doctor's notes for the 6 children's medications. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 6.5 Medication Child care programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: C. Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. Corrective Action: Provider is to submit a plan of action via e-mail to counselor to ensure that all medication requirements from Child Care Facility Handbook, Section 6.5 are obtained

Counselor observed 3 prescription medications, 2- Nystatin and 1-Ofloxacin, that were not in their original containers during inspection and no prescription label was present during inspection. Counselor gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 6.5 Medication C. Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label. Corrective Action: Provider sent home the 3 prescription medications with parents during inspection, therefore standard was completed at time of inspection
