33-07 · Training Requirements
Licensing Specialist reviewed all 4 active childcare personnel training records. Two childcare personnel did not complete the required preservice training requirements prior to unsupervised contact with or care of children. Childcare personnel, D.R., is missing HNSR (Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program), for completion of SR preservice training. Childcare personnel, J.A., is missing both the SAFESR (Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program), and HNSR (Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program), for completion of SR preservice training. 3 Training Requirements Training requirements of this section do not apply to child care personnel who do not work directly with children, such as cooks, bookkeepers, and janitors who are considered other personnel. Training is required for other personnel if they at any time fill in for classroom child care personnel and are in direct care of children. 3.1 Preservice Child care personnel must successfully complete the preservice training coursework described in this section, as applicable. All child care personnel must complete these preservice training requirements within 90 days of initial employment with any School Readiness provider. This timeframe does not start over if personnel change employment to another School Readiness provider within this initial 90 days. Personnel who have not completed all preservice training requirements are not allowed any unsupervised contact with or care of children in a School Readiness program

Counselor was unable to view the Fire Drill Log/Record. Program manager was absent and the substitute was unable to get a copy. Records were not available at the time of inspection. This was not resolved at the time of inspection. 3.8.4 Fire Drills C. A current attendance record and parent contact information must accompany child care personnel out of the building during a drill or actual evacuation and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, 2. One fire drill during napping/sleeping times, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority. Counselor reviewed the attendance logs for the groups. Attendance records were not maintained with teachers and were kept in the front office. When handed the attendance records, attendance records did not include the time of each child's arrival and departure. This was not resolved at the time of inspection. 7.5 Daily Attendance Daily attendance of children must be taken and recorded accurately by the child care personnel, documenting the time when each child enters and departs the program. A. Attendance devices used for the purposes of tracking attendance may be used, but personnel must ensure the accuracy of the documented attendance. Each classroom must have an attendance sheet/class roster for the group of children occupying that space.
