Counselor observed a prescription ointment without the label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, and medication directions. Provider has been giving until 6/30/2023 to bring this standard back into compliance by acquiring the medication's prescription label or by sending the medication home to custodial parents. Technical Assistance from Child Care Facility Handbook: Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature

An up-to-date version must be on file for as long as the child is enrolled at the facility. If the custodial parents or legal guardians fail to provide the documentation required above within 30 days of enrollment, the facility shall not allow the child to remain in the program
