Transportation By Vehicle E. Prior to transporting children by vehicle, the transportation log must be recorded with each childs name, the date and time of departure, and initialed by the child care personnel verifying that all children were accounted for and that the log is c//omplete. F. Upon arrival at the destination, the driver of the vehicle mu to/ /1. Mark each child off the log as the child departs the vehicle; 2. Conduct a physical inspection and visual sweep of the vehicle interior to ensure that no child is left in the vehicle; and 3. Record, sign, and date the transportation log immediately, verifying that all children were accounted for, and that the visual sweep was conducted. 4. Ensure that a second child care personnel conducts a second visual sweep, signs and dates the transportation log verifying that all children were accounted for, and that the log is complete. 5. If the provider contracts with an outside entity to provide transportation, then the provider must assign a child care personnel to perform the duties of the driver outlined above in numbers 1-3. G. Upon arrival at the destination by vehicle, a second and different child care personnel must: 1. Conduct a physical inspection and visual sweep of the vehicle to ensure that no child is left in the vehicle; and 2. Sign, date and record the transportation log immediately, verifying that all children were accounted for, and that the log is complete. At the time of the inspection the licensing specialist (LS) reviewed the programs transportation log and determined the transportation log was missing times and locations the children were picked up/departed from, as well as signatures from to that vehicle sweeps were conducted. 2.5.2 Transportation Log A. A log must be maintained for all children being transported in the vehicle or on foot away from and/or to the premises of the child care facility. The log must be retained on file at the facility for a minimum of 12 months and available for review by the licensing authority. The log must include: 1. Each childs name, 2. Date and time of departure, 3. Time of arrival at the destination, 4. The signature of the driver (or in the case of traveling on foot, the signature of the child care personnel), and 5. The signature of a second child care personnel or person(s) authorized by the parent to verify the transportation log and that all children have left the vehicle (if applicable). The LS provided the program a sample of a transportation log that contains all required components. Per the provider the sample log will be utilized starting 4/9/25. 33-09 · Training Requirements
At the time of inspection, the licensing specialist reviewed staff transcripts finding that several staff members have not completed the required school readiness (SR) preservice training. Staff D.A., T.K., N.E., and K.T. all have been employed at the facility prior to June 30, 2024, and/or more than 90 days. Staff member J.O. was employed 2/24/25 and must complete the preservice training by 5/24/25. New Training Requirements for All School Readiness Providers Important Announcement: Due to changes in federal regulations, there are new health and safety training requirements for all child care personnel employed at a contracted School Readiness (SR) Program site. For compliance, all personnel who directly supervise children must successfully complete mandated health and safety training. All current SR child care personnel must complete two new health and safety courses (Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program and Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program) by June 30, 2024. These free courses will be hosted in the Florida Early Childhood Professional Development Registry beginning January 1, 2024. SR child care personnel must take these courses even if they have completed preservice training and can use the two courses towards the annual in-service training requirement. New hires and current preservice trainees must complete all required preservice training within 90 days of initial employment with any SR provider by successfully completing one of the options below. If a new hire or preservice trainee elects to take option 1 or option 2, they must also complete the two new health and safety courses (Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program and Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program). SR child care personnel with exemptions from completing the DCF introductory child care training based on educational credentials or passing of competency examinations per s. 402.305(2), F.S., must also complete all mandated preservice training in option 1 or 2 (along with the Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program and Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program) or option 3 by June 30, 2024, or within 90 days of initial employment. The LS provided the provider with the School Readiness Preservice Flyer this information contains the information for course completion outline in options 1, 2, and 3. Staff D.A., T.K., N.E., and K.T. must complete SR preservice training by 5/9/25; Staff J.O. must complete the preservice training by 5/24/25
