20-06 · Crib Requirements
A sleeping infant in a crib with a sleep sack on was gripping a blanket and burp cloth in the crib. Licensing counselor discussed Safe Sleep requirements with the infant room staff. The Provider removed the blanket and burp cloth from the crib at the time of inspection. Per DCF Handbook: 3.6.4 Safe Sleep A. All personnel that care for infants must follow safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as referenced in Caring for Our Children Basics Health and Safety Foundations for Early Care and Education, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(v), F.A.C. Cribs or playpens/play yards used for infants must have tight fitted sheets and no excess bedding, which includes but is not limited to: bumper pads, hanging mobiles, quilts, comforters, receiving blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and cushions

The Provider will submit a picture of the container on or before 10/02/2023 to the licensing office via email to verify compliance. Per DCF Handbook:. C: Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions.
