24-09 · Food Preparation Area
At the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that both the sinks with hot water including the handwashing sink in the kitchen were filed with dishes. The Licensing Specialist took pictures. During the inspection the staff cleared out the sink of dishes and the specialist discussed the requirement with the director. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance form the handbook Section 3.9.1.A,7 7. A separate handwashing station with hot running water, a minimum of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation. If a portable sink is used for handwashing in the food preparation area, hot water must be provided

At the time of the inspection, the blanket and pillows were all together in a pile in the one year old classroom. The counselor advised the director who stated the linens are normally stored in the cubbies in the same classroom. The director separated all the items into each individual cubie. Pictures taken.
