A complaint allegation was received alleging that Ms. PR was overheard speaking to a child and it was caught on the audio transcript. She was overheard saying, Actually, I promise you Im a pop you with this stick. Put that pacifier in your mouth. A complaint inspection was conducted on 6/6/2024 and a statement from the operator (PR) was received. Per operator, (PR), she does not recall saying that. She stated that she would not and did not say that to the children she cares for. She may have said that to her grandchild but not to the children she cares for. Operator alleges that none of the four children she cares for suck pacifiers. She does not recall the name of the training she took or when she took it but she recalls taking a training last week but it was in the evening, from 4PM to 7PM and one from 7PM to 9PM. The child care home closes at 5:30PM so the first training was during operating hours. The operator's grandchild is about 12 years old and does not use a pacifier. During the course of a complaint inspection, I asked to see the child's belongings to confirm that children don't use pacifiers. While I checked one of the bags, the operator proceeded to take one of the bookbags, she took something out and placed it inside her dress. I asked her who's bag was that and she said it belonged to the child (YP). The child (YP) was saying "p-pier" to which sounded like she was attempting to say pacifier. I asked the operator what was that she placed inside her shirt to which she said nothing. she proceeded to walk inside the living area of the home where she was observed putting her arm in her dress and putting something by the couch. I proceeded to ask what did she put there and she stated that "nothing" so I asked if i can confirm to which she said yes. I found a pacifier on the floor next to the couch. I asked the child "where is your pacifier?" and the child says grandma has it while pointing at her. The children call the operator grandma. This complaint is substantiated
