33-01 · Training Requirements
Licensing Specialist reviewed staff files and transcripts, and one of the teachers [AP] has not completed mandated training. The staff began working in the industry back in 2019. Technical Assistance was provided that Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Child care personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations Health, Safety and Nutrition Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Child Growth and Development Behavioral Observation and Screening B. Part II Courses (10 Hours) Child care personnel must also complete 10 hours of the following Part II courses: Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours), or Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) and one of the following courses: 1. 23-02 · Fire Drills
While conducting routine inspection, it was observed by LS that the posted annual inspection report for facility had expired (Dated 6.28.2023). Provider was requested by LS for an updated fire inspection report, which provider was unable to provider. Technical assistance was given to provider per CCF handbook " Unless statutorily exempted, all child care facilities must conform to state standards adopted by the State Fire Marshal, Chapter 69A-36, F.A.C., Uniform Standards for Life Safety and Fire Prevention in Child Care Facilities. A copy of the current and approved annual fire inspection report completed by a certified fire inspector must be on file with the licensing authority. If the program is granted a fire inspection exemption by the local fire inspection office, the exemption must be documented and maintained on file at the program. 18-12 · Technical assistance was given to provider per CCF handbook " G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. Bedding and linens shall not be stored in the bathroom, unless stored in cabinets. "
FSC observed sleeping cots stored in the bathroom by VPK A/VPK B classrooms. During observation, two cots were stacked and labeled with children names. Provider was able to correct at the time of inspection by removing cots from the bathroom and sanitizing with Lysol . Provider was notified on the reason for the violation and the proper way for storage of sleeping cots

46-07 · Daily Attendance
While conducting the walkthrough of facility, FSC observed Toddler 1 classroom to not have the attendance roster while on the playground. Provider was able to correct by returning to class. Personnel was asked for the roster and responded that the roaster was in the classroom. Provider was notified of violation and given technical assistance per CCF handbook "Attendance devices used for the purposes of tracking attendance may be used, but personnel must ensure the accuracy of the documented attendance. Each classroom must have an attendance sheet/class roster for the group of children occupying that space. Attendance sheet/class roster must accompany the child care personnel and the group of children throughout the day should they leave the classroom. "
