A three-year-old stated that his teacher spanked and pinched him. The teacher was sent on an early vacation, according to the director, after she noticed that she may be suffering burnout. After staff returned from vacation another student shared that the same teacher listed in the complaint report had grabbed him by the arm. It was then that the person in charge decided to terminate the teacher accused of not following the facility's disciplinary policies. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: A. The child care facility shall adopt a discipline policy consistent with Section 402.305(12), F.S., including standards that prohibit children from being subjected to discipline which is severe, humiliating, frightening, or associated with food, rest, or toileting. Spanking or any other form of physical punishment is prohibited. B. The child care facility operators, employees, and volunteers must comply with written disciplinary and expulsion policies
