33-01 · Training Requirements
During the inspection, the director advised that there are currently 14 employees. During the inspection, Licensing Counselor observed 14 of 14 employee records. The director was given until December 27, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. When the Licensing Counselor was reviewing the files the CCR seen personnel #1 did not finish her 40-hour training. During the inspection, Licensing Counselor provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 4.1 Beginning Training Childcare personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the childcare industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the childcare industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the childcare industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the childcare industry in any licensed Florida childcare facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a department-approved training course, beginning a department-approved online childcare training course, or by receiving results from a department-approved competency examination. The childcare program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from childcare personnel

During the inspection, Licensing Counselor provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all childcare personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the childcare industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Childcare personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years

During the inspection, CCR observed cleaning solution was stored under a sink in a cabinet that was unlocked in the girl's bathroom. The director brought this standard back in compliance at the time of inspection. • CCR monitored 43 of 43 children files. CCR found three children who had an expired immunization form. The director was given until March 21, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. • During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 7.1 F Immunization Records The child care facility is responsible for obtaining for each child in care a current, complete and properly executed Florida Certification of Immunization form Part A-1, B, or C, DH 680, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(o), F.A.C., or the Religious Exemption from Immunization form, DH 681, which is incorporated by reference in 65C22.001(7)(p), F.A.C., from the custodial parent or legal guardian. DH Form 680 and DH Form 681 may be obtained from the local county health department. Specific immunization requirements are included and detailed in the most current edition of the Immunization Guidelines-Florida Schools, Child Care Facilities and Family Day Care Homes as promulgated by the Florida Department of Health. F. It is recommended that child care personnel are current with all immunizations routinely recommended for adults by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as referenced in Caring for Our Children Basics Health and Safety Foundations for Early Care and Education, which is incorporated by in 65C-22.001(7)(v), F.A.C

During the inspection, the director advised that there are currently 8 employees. During the inspection, CCR observed 8 of 8 employee records. CCR observed 1 personnel did not have a file on site to view. The director was given until March 21, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 7.4 Personnel Records A-F. Records must be maintained and kept current on all child care personnel, as defined by Section 402.302(3), F.S. These records shall be on-site, available for review by the licensing authority and must include: A. A complete employment application with the required statement pursuant to Section 402.3055(1)(b), F.S. B. Documentation of position and date of employment. C. CF-FSP Form 5337, Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Requirements, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(l), F.A.C., must be signed on or before hire date and annually thereafter by all child care personnel. D. Copies of training information and credentials as applicable. E. For the driver only: Florida drivers license and driver physical examination documentation. A copy of the drivers license and the physician certification, or another form containing the same elements of the physician certification, granting medical approval to operate the vehicle, and valid certificate(s) of course completion for first aid training, pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures, and background screening must also be maintained in the drivers personnel file. F. Prior to beginning volunteering in a child care facility, a CF-FSP 5217, Volunteer Acknowledgment which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(e), F.A.C., and may be obtained from the Departments website www.myflfamilies.com/childcare, must be completed and on file at the child care facility for the volunteer. Written documentation of volunteer hours must be maintained at the facility for a minimum of 12 months and available for review by the licensing authority
