KLA center director called Childcare licensing and enforcement on Wednesday December 17 to self report an incident. The report stated, "On Wednesday, December 17, at approximately 10:30 a.m., staff member M.C. reported that child L.S. picked up a gel pill that had accidently fallen onto the classroom floor from her pocket. L.S. bit into the pill; however, the pill remained fully intact, but it appeared to have a bite mark. M.C. intervened immediately upon noticing the incident, and L.S. spit the pill out right away. L.S., parent was notified and parent came to see Liam. Poison Control was contacted and Director T.M. asked for guidance. The Department of children and families (DCF) was notified, and a voicemail message was left for licensing inspector E.W. to self-report the incident. KLA supervising manager was notified via phone call." CCLE interviewed center director, T.M. on 12/18/25. T.M. advised that the incident was reported to the child's parent, poison control, and supervisor. An incident report was made. Staff was reprimanded and all staff was retrained on storage of personal items and medications. The director T.M. has completed all the necessary steps for corrective action. T.M.'s self report indicates that the situation did occur and therefore the facility will receive a non-compliance for toxins. The complaint was Substantiated
