During this inspection visit, a fire drill was conducted in the presence of the Licensing Specialist (LS). There were 13 adults and 88 children present. The last approved fire inspection for this facility was dated 4/8/2024 and it is currently expired. The fire extinguisher certifications are valid until 3/2026. LS Provided Technical Assistance (TA) to the director explaining that the annual fire inspection is valid for 1 year from the time of completion and must not expire. 33-01 · Training Requirements
Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Child care personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations Health, Safety and Nutrition Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Child Growth and Development Behavioral Observation and Screening B. Part II Courses (10 Hours) Child care personnel must also complete 10 hours of the following Part II courses: Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours), or Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) and one of the following courses: 1. Infant and Toddler Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 2. Preschool Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 3. 33-03 · Training Requirements
Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. The staff person listed on the supplemental page that was hired 9/16/2024 has not started the required DCF 40 hours of training. LS gave TA to the director explaining that training must be started within 90 days of employment in the child care industry

13-02 · Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Weapons
All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a child's reach at all times. CCRC observed odor spray labeled "keep out of reach of children" and bleach and water solution on a shelve, accessible to the children (Picture was taken) . Child Care regulation counselor (CCRC) gave technical assistance (TA) to the staff responsible to ensure that all harmful items are stored in a locked or inaccessible area to children at all times. The staff responsible removed the sanitizer during this inspection visit, placing this standard back in compliance

46-02 · Daily Attendance
Daily attendance of children must be taken and recorded accurately by the child care personnel, documenting the time when each child enters and departs the program. The attendance record for two of the 2 year old classes was missing time of arrival for several children. CCRC gave TA to teachers and staff responsible on the importance of signing every child in and out of the center

23-06 · Fire Drills
The provider did not conduct a fire drill during the months of November & December 2022. During the facility's license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. Lock down and inclement weather drills shall be conducted a minimum of one time each per operating year when children are in care and the documentation of these drills must be maintained for 12 months from the date of the drill. A lock down or inclement weather drill may substitute for one monthly fire drill. Substitutions for fire drills may not occur more than three times within the licensure year. Documentation of this substitution must be maintained for 12 months from the date of the drill. During today's inspection visit a fire drill was conducted with 12 staff and 80 children, with alarm activated, in presence of Licensing Counselor. The fire extinguishers are certified thru March 2023

28-02 · Bottles, Breastmilk, Formula and Infant Food
Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily. Sippy cups brought from home were not labeled or only had a first name (Pictures were taken). The director was educated by the licensing counselor on the requirement for last and first names on cups and bottles brought from home. The staff person then correctly labeled the items, thus this regulation is marked back into compliance
