During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the infant room there was a hole in the wall above the cots and in the 2-year old's classroom the dry wall was missing and exposing the metal plate by the air vent. During the time of inspection, the Owner advised the Licensing Specialist that there are 8 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 8 of the 8 employee records. REMINDER: In-service training for 2024/2025 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2025. Specialist reviewed 10 hours of annual in-service, completed, for all child care personnel for the 2023/2024 fiscal year. When the Licensing Specialist was reviewing the files the licensing specialist observed one personnel did not finish her 40-hour training. The director was given until July 27, 2025, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Childcare personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of childcare training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Childcare personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004, are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. 7-6: During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed that the vehicle alarm was not operational in that the vehicle alarm did not go off. The director advised that the alarm is wired to the vehicle horn, so the vehicle horn should have gone off within 60 seconds of turning off the vehicle ignition. During the inspection, Child Care Regulation provided technical assistance, By January 1, 2022 all vehicles used by child care facilities to transport children must be equipped with a reliable alarm system approved by the Department which prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. 1. Approved alarm systems must meet the following criteria: a. The alarm system must be armed or activated automatically when the vehicles ignition is turned on. b. The alarm system must be designed and installed so that the vehicle horn, siren or other type of audio alarm will sound if the driver/staff member does not walk to the rear or, in the case of a passenger van, the side entry point of the vehicle, to manually shut off or deactivate the alarm. c. The time delay from the time the ignition is turned off after activation of the alarm system until the alarm sounds shall be no longer than one minute. d. The alarm must be audible from the distance of 500 feet from the vehicle. e. The alarm system must be installed so that the driver must walk to the back of the vehicle to reach the deactivation mechanism. 24-9: During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed that the kitchen only had a three compartment sink. Staff advised that the three compartment sink is used for both dish washing and hand washing. Staff advised that the facility did not have a separate hand washing only sink in the kitchen. During the inspection, Child Care Regulation provided technical assistance, A separate handwashing station with hot running water, a minimum of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation. If a portable sink is used for handwashing in the food preparation area, hot water must be provided.
