During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in classroom 6 had food on the shelf uncovered or labeled while no one was in the classroom. The director brought this standard back in compliance at the time of inspection. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.3, D.7 Food Safety D. If a facility chooses to provide food to children directly or by contract with an outside source, such as a caterer, the food must be free from spoilage and handled in a sanitary manner at all times. The facility must have adequate equipment available to maintain food safety. 7. 33-03 · Training Requirements
During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 25 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 26 of the 26 employee records. When the Licensing Specialist was reviewing the files the licensing counselor seen two personnels did not begin their training within the 90 days. The director was given until September 27, 2024 to come into compliance with this standard.CCF Handbook Section 4.1 Beginning Training Childcare personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the childcare industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the childcare industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the childcare industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the childcare industry in any licensed Florida childcare facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a department-approved training course, beginning a department-approved online childcare training course, or by receiving results from a department-approved competency examination. The childcare program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from childcare personnel. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Childcare personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of childcare training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Childcare personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004, are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 2 employees that did not have the documentation that the 5 year employment history checks were completed. D. The employer/owner/operator must conduct employment history checks, including documented attempts to contact each employer that employed the individual within the preceding five years, and documentation of the findings. Documentation must include the applicants job title and description of his/her regular duties, confirmation of employment dates, and level of job performance. At the time of inspection, licensing specialist observed a group of children in the one year old class watching music videos. The staff member turned off the music video. TA per childcare handbook, "do not include the use of electronic media for children under two years of age. Electronic media may only be used for educational purposes or physical activity for children 2 years of age and older for no more than 1 to 2 hours per day." Be sure to remind staff that if using an iPad to play music the screen should be covered

At the time of inspection, licensing specialist observed a classroom cabinet that did not have a working magnetic lock on the cabinet under the sink which had supplies that stated keep out of reach of children stored under the cabinet. The teacher moved the item to high cabinet bringing this back into compliance. TA All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach at all times
