33-05 · Training Requirements

At time of inspection, licensing specialist reviewed all staff files and found that two staff members had started their 40 hour trainings but never finished them within one year. Be sure to have staff finish their trainings by the due date. TA Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 40 care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility.
