33-09 · Training Requirements
During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 8 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 8 of the 8 employee records. REMINDER: In-service training for 2024/2025 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2025. 33-9: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 1 child care personnel did not complete the safe sleep training within 30 days of their hire date. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, Section 4.2.3 All child care personnel who work in a facility that offers care to infants must have training regarding guidance on safe sleep practices, preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; recognition of signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; strategies for coping with crying, fussing, or distraught child and the development and vulnerabilities of the brain in infancy in early childhood within 30 days of hire at the facility. For child care personnel to satisfy this requirement the training must be accomplished through one of following methods: Department's Health Safety and Nutrition course, Safe Sleep course, or the Early Learning Floridas Safe Sleep Practices. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 1 child care personnel that was alone with the children in the two year old classroom within completing the School Readiness Pre-Service Training. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, DEL SR Handbook, Section 3.1 and 3.2 Child care personnel must successfully complete the preservice training coursework described in this section, as applicable. All child care personnel must complete these preservice training requirements within 90 days of initial employment with any School Readiness provider. This timeframe does not start over if personnel change employment to another School Readiness provider within this initial 90 days. 34-1: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there were 41 children on site. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 1 employee had a staff credential on their DCF transcript when the facility was required to have 2 employees with a staff credential on their DCF transcript. The provider advised that an employee is currently enrolled in the Marchman program to get their staff credential. Extra time is being provided due to the length it will take to complete the class. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, Pursuant to Section 402.305(3), F.S. a licensed child care facility must have a minimum of one credentialed child care personnel for every 20 children. A. A credentialed child care personnel is defined as a child care professional who has been issued a Staff Credential Verification documented on the individuals Training Transcript. Florida law requires that VPK instructional personnel possess an appropriate credential. If the Department identifies that a designated VPK teacher does not have an active credential, the Department will notify the local Early Learning Coalition or its designated representative

At the time of inspection licensing specialist observed and photographed the cabinet in the 1 yr old was unlocked and cleaning supplies were accessible to the children. The director secured the safety lock bringing this back into compliance. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the VPK classroom 3 mats that were ripped and exposing the foam. The director was given until June 24, 2024, to come into compliance with this standard During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.6.1,D- Bedding and Linens. Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. D. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface
