2.122.A · Prior to the original license being issued, following the renovation of the facility that would affect the licensing of the facility and at least every two (2) years thereafter, all child care facilities except family child care homes and Neighborhood Youth Organizations must be inspected and obtain an approving inspection report from the local department of health or the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and from the local fire department. These reports must be maintained at the facility and be available for review upon request by a Licensing Specialist.

The lap pool and small swim pool are located in adjacent spaces. Per discussion with Charli Kruger, Assistant Program Director, CH1 did not want to go back into the small swim pool and sat on a bench in the lap pool area. Program staff was in the adjacent small pool area but no qualified program staff member was directly supervising CH1. Correction: Immediately (08/11/2023) ensure that all children in care are under direct supervision of qualified program staff at all times. Provide additional training regarding direct supervision requirements to all staff. Corrected prior to visit by reviewing situation with staff and providing additional training both on the day of the incident and the following day. No written response is required. Per discussions with Program staff - confirmed that the air conditioning unit had not been working and licensed spaces were becoming uncomfortably warm during the program hours. No fans were available until 07/27/2023. Correction: Immediately (07/27/2023) correct non-working air conditioning unit or provide alternate cooling devices (fans, et cetera) to maintain a comfortable temperature in the licensed spaces. Corrected during visit by fans being installed in the two licensed areas. No written response is required.
