2.230.C.3.c · Preschool and school-age climbing equipment must have a six (6) foot use zone surrounding the equipment. For slides exceeding six (6) feet in height, the use zone from the base of the slide must be as long as the slide height.
The use zone around the play equipment on the playground does not meet the minimum six foot use zone for all sides of the equipment. 2.230.C.8 · All outdoor play areas used for children’s activities must be checked daily and kept safe and free from hazardous materials or debris by removal of debris, dilapidated structures, and broken or worn play equipment. The staff must identify hazardous, high-risk areas; those areas must be made inaccessible to children to reduce the possibility of injuries and accidents.
There are tree stumps on the playground that present a tripping hazard. The playground slopes toward the fence in a section of the playground and needs to be shored up. There is a broken basketball hoop on the playground that needs to be removed, There is a metal piece on the climber that is warped and not properly attached. There is an airplane play element that is dilapidated and has seats that are not attached. The are several areas where the playground is covered with weeds.
