2.224.B.2 · All infants less than six (6) months of age must be held for bottle feeding. Bottles must not be propped. Older infants must not be allowed to hold their own bottles when lying flat. Bottles must not be allowed in a crib with the infant.
One older infant had slid down on the boppy where they had been placed with their bottle. This resulted in the infant lying flat with their bottle for a short period of time. Correction: Immediately (11/14/24) ensure that infants are sitting when drinking from a bottle. Corrected during the visit by staff member repositioning child so that they were sitting upright. A rug/mat by rear exit door had a binding that was fraying, coming loose and presenting a potential trip hazard. Two CD layers in the Red classroom had cords that were dangling and accessible to children. There were several thistle plants with sharp stickers in the grass area on the Preschool playground. Correction: Immediately (08/23/2023) repair or remove rug creating a trip hazard. Secure CD player cords so that they are inaccessible to children. Remove thistle plants in grass area of preschool playground. The rug was removed by the Director during the visit and the CD player cords in the classroom were secured so that they are inaccessible to children. The removal of the thistles is the only correction remaining. Immediately (08/23/2023) remove the thistle plants from any playground area accessible to children. Submit verification of correction to Licensing with written response no later than 09/06/2023. Correct by 08/23/2023
