101700.3(b)(2) · Licensees shall maintain a lead value at or below the Action Level of 5 ppb in all outlets subject to the testing requirements of these Written Directives, for the health and safety of children in care.

Licensee has made the faucet “D” temporarily inaccessible by placing a bag over the faucet with an “Out of Order” sign and have replaced the faucet, to be retested after the required flushing period. Children receive drinking water from faucets A, B, C or E transported in water jugs to the Seeding classroom. On 02/29/24, licensee failed to maintain a lead value at or below the Action Level for water lead testing resulting with values of 5.5 ppb or greater for Faucet “D” – Sink Faucet, in Seedlings Classroom, with a result of 6.2 ppb. Water testing results identified with Action Level Exceedance as defined in WD section 101700.3. are not deemed safe to drink. This is a potential health and safety risk to children in care. The licensee plans to retest the faucet on 3/15/24, submitting new test results once received.
