101238(a)(1) · Buildings and Grounds (a)The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Director stated that they have a Pest Control conducting monthly services. Next services is scheduled for November 3,2023. Director will implement a plan that will address the next step to erridicate the pest problem. Director will submit the plan by the POC date. (1)The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents.

The fence shall be at least four feet high. The Director agreed to submit a plan to ensure that the second floor playground is enclosed by a fence that will protect the children at all times. This was not met as evidenced by: Today, 3/14/2023, LPA observed no mesh material covering the iron split rail fence which does not effectively prevent children from exiting the outdoor play area, which poses a potential risk to the Health, Safety or Personal Rights to children in care.

Program Director agreed to conduct training with staff regarding Personal Rights. Program Director will submit Proof of training to CCL by the POC due date, 10/21/2022. Based on the report, a child brought a backpack in school. But due to the school's COVID19 policy, backpacks or any items from home are not allowed to be brought inside the classrooms. However, the child insisted to bring his backpack in the classroom. Per interview, the staff attempted to take the back from the child and as a result, the child fell and hit his head. There was no injury observed on the child. This poses a potential risk to the Health, Safety or Personal Rights to children in care.
