102417(g)(9)(A) · Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (9) Each family child care home shall have a written disaster plan of action prepared on a form approved by the Department. All children, age and ability permitting, and the provider, the assistant provider, and other members of the household, shall be instructed in their duties under the disaster plan. As their age and ability permit, newly enrolled children shall be informed promptly of their duties as required in the plan. (A) Each family child care home shall conduct fire drills and disaster drills at least once every six months.

102416(c) · Personnel Requirements (c) The licensee and other personnel as specified shall complete training on preventive health practices, including pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.

102352(o) · Definition. "Overnight Care" means care being provided to children anytime between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Care provided during the day and overnight combined shall not exceed 24 hours from the time the child entered into care.

Licensee submitted a written statement that she understands that she can only care of children for a period of less than 24 hours per day. Based on interviews, Licensee cared for a child more than 24 hours from the time the child entered into care, which poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care. Licensee submitted her hours of operation during today's inspection, which are 7:30AM to 6PM.

102416.3(b) · Alterations to Existing Buildings or Grounds. The licensee shall provide the Department with a copy of an inspection report when an inspection is required by the local building inspector as a result of the alteration, addition or construction.

Deficiency corrected during today's inspection. Licensee made the sun room off-limits to children. Based on observation, Licensee was using the sun room, which she does not have permits for, which poses a potential health and safety risk to children. SUPERVISOR'S NAME: Joel Segura
