During a 10/26/23 incident, a four year old child in care wandered from the facility before being found and returned to the provider by the San Diego Police Department an hour later. Having a child elude the supervision of a day care provider without their notice is an immediate risk to their health and safety. Licensee stated she has corrected the issue with the addition of locks on her gates and states will install an alarm on her patio door which alerts her to its opening. Licensee has also installed outdoor cameras. Licensee also will have an assistant present whenever she has over 4 children in care. 102416.5(b)(2) · 102416.5(b)(2) Staffing Ratio and Capacity For a Small Family Child Care Home, the maximum number of children for whom care may be provided at any one time, including children under age 10 who reside at the licensee's home, shall be one of the following: (2) Six children, no more than three of whom may be infants.
