102423(a)(2) · Personal Rights: (a) Each child receiving services from a family child care home shall have certain rights that shall not be waived or abridged by the licensee regardless of consent or authorization from the child's authorized representative. These rights include, but are not limited to, the following: (2) To receive safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment.

This deficiency was cleared during today's follow up visit. The licensee informed the LPA during the initial investigation visit on April 16, 2025 that effective immediately, her pets are to be secured in an off-limits area during daycare operating hours and not to be commingled with the daycare children unless done so in a controlled environment and under direct staff supervision. Based on interviews conducted and the licensee’s own admission, it was corroborated that the licensee’s dog bit child C1 while at the facility. This posed a potential health, safety, or personal rights risk to persons in care.
