101229(a)(1) · 101229(a)(1) Lack of supervision. No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time… Supervision shall include visual observation. The licensee did not comply with the regulation above as evidenced by The director stated the gate was repaired but the gate is not fully latching. The Director will put it another order for further repairs. The Director stated additional gates will be install between the playground and the exit gate.
Based on interviews and records reviews, the licensee did not meet the regulatory requirements above, which poses an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care. The staff did not visually supervise Child 1; Child 1 ran out of the playground into the adjacent parking lot. Director stated she will email LPA statement at dean.thompson@dss.ca.gov by end of day on 5/17/2023. Based on observation and interviews with S2, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. Upon entering the Pre-K classroom at 8:12 am, LPA observed (S2) alone, caring for 13 preschool age children which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
