101229(a)(1) · The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation.
Facility has installed a chime at the door to alert them when the door opens. Staff will also be positioned near the front door so no children are able to exit the room without teachers knowledge. Interviews conducted and facility self reporting that Child #1 exited the classroom without staff knowledge. Child #1 was observed outside by a school counselor who alerted staff inside the class. as evidenced: Staff #1 briefly walked out of the classroom, the door automatically locked while two children were still napping on cots. This is an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care to count children and thoroughly sweep areas for children prior to exiting any areas. Deficiency is cleared as of today.
