Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. While touring the facility at 8:58 A.M. LPA observed three storage sheds that were unlocked. Inside the sheds, LPA observed a saw, hammer, screw drivers, wood sealer, paint, WD40, and janitorial supplies that read "WARNING Keep Out of Reach of Children." The sheds are located near the entrance of the main building building. LPA observed the gate separating rooms Y100, Y105, Y107, and Y109 from the main building was open which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. 101238(a)(1) · Buildings and Grounds The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
Director posted a sign on door of the outside off limits until the pest are removed. Director stated that she will provide pictures of the equipment once cleaned and free of insects to LPA via email @ stella,gutierrez@dss.ca.gov Director will also develop a plan on how regular cleaning maintenance of the outside area as evidenced by LPAs observation of living spiders, webs and spider eggs observed on the playground equipment where the children play daily. This poses a risk to the children in care. to be free of insects weekly and to keep record at the facility then submit the plan to LPA by specified date of 09/30/2022.
