101238(a)(1) · Buildings and Grounds (a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. (1) The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents.

Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. During the indoor inspection of the kitchen, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) observed mouse droppings in a bottom cabinet and near the baseboards on the floor in the kitchen. The Director stated that they previously had a rodent problem but it has since been remedied by the exterminator. The exterminator comes to the center on a montly basis. POC Due Date: 06/07/2024
