  101229(a)(1) · 101229 Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. (1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation.

  The facility proactively provided trainings regarding active supervision, visual and actual head counts, transition roles of each teacher with verbal confirmations and a list of children that stays in the playground and classrooms to keep track of the children. Deficiency issued today will be cleared. Based on staff interviews, a child (C1) was left alone without supervision at the playground for approximately 5-7 minutes during the transition period. The mother of the child arrived for pick up and found C1 alone and crying and brought back inside the facility. This poses an immediate health, safety and personal rights risk to children in care.
