  101805(b)(3) · (3) A ratio of six children to each teacher shall be maintained for all children in attendance at the toddler component. An aide who is participating in on-the-job training may be substituted for a teacher when directly supervised by a fully qualified teacher.

  Director, Trenity Jones, will adjust teacher staffing schedules to ensure that there is adequate assigned teachers and floaters throughout the day to meet ratio guidelines. Director Jones will also coach her staff on proper ratio requirements. Based on information received through interviews and records review, it was determined that the toddler classroom at times was operating out of ratio. On 03/26/2024 an unqualified staff member was left alone supervising children during nap time without the supervision of a qualified teacher. LPA also reviewed and observed children and staff timesheets for 02/22/2024 that indicated that the classroom was operating out of ratio, which poses/posed a potential health, safety, or personal rights risk to children in care. Per Director Jones she will have a meeting with staff and admin to adjust schedules as needed. Director Jones will provide a list of all employees who attend the training along with their written statements documenting what they learned. Additionally, Director Jones will submit a letterhead statement on how the toddler classroom will remain within ratio. Statement will be submitted to CCL by POC due date 04/03/2024.
