  102416.2(b)(2) · *this is an amended document from the original report dated 10/06/25* (b) The licensee shall report to the Department any of the events...that occur during the operation of the family child care home.(2) Any child absence means any instance where a child in care is missing...even if the child is later found safe.

  The Licensee stated she will contact the duty line no less than one business day after a child is missing from the facility, even if later found, and also will report to the department in writing via UIR no more than 5 business days of the incident. Based on Licensee admittance and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. The Licensee's stated they were missing a child who was found inside the facilities' transport van parked on the street and it was not reported to the Department. This is a potential risk to the health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. Licensee will contact the duty line at 619-767-2248 to report via telephone and email SDincidentreports@dss.ca.gov LIcensee stated that they have also created a two form system for reporting that they will use internally.
