101229(a)(1) · Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision. The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation. The Director conducted an in-service training with Staff 1 on the importance of transition tracking, name-to-face roll call, and visual sweep regarding the incident involving Child 1. Copies of training along with the signature of Staff 1 was obtained during today's visit. This requirement was not being met as evidenced by: On 3/21/24, at approximately 3:42PM, during transition from the Toddler classroom 1 to the playground, Staff 1 did not conduct a proper name-to-face roll call, nor a visual sweep of the classroom, resulting in Child 1 being left inside Toddler classroom 1, unsupervised for approximately 3 minutes. This poses an immediate health, safety, and personal rights risk to children in care. Deficiency was cleared at the time of visit and no further action is needed. SUPERVISOR'S NAME Rita Ramos
