Any child transported in a passenger automobile, van or pick-up truck, who is less than six (6) years old or weighs less than sixty (60) pounds, shall be restrained in a child passenger safety seat. Any child who is at least six (6) years old, or weighs at least sixty (60) pounds, must be restrained by a safety belt or any other approved safety devices. (Act 470 of 2001) Child passenger safety seats shall be used in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
